 I have been working with optics for over 30 years in as a licensed Optician in the upstate area. Understanding optics and the importance of why lens coatings must be applied properly to produce a flawless product every time is paramount to eliminate defects in a lens. As a pilot and aircraft owner I have spent many hours buffing and waxing my Cessna 172  for days, just to have to do it again every six months to keep the paint from fading. As a private pilot owner I traveled to Texas to become factory trained certified ceramic coating installer.
